More About Us

Peakside Pioneers is a mission driven, nonprofit organization providing in-home therapy & wellness services to infants, toddlers and their families.

We serve rural areas in Bosque & McLennan Counties, Texas.

Our Story

Peakside Pioneers began as an individual private practice and transformed once our journey through matrescence and early parenthood began. We learned (and are still learning) firsthand how meaningful it is to witness a little one overcome challenges, discover new abilities, and smile with joy when something finally clicks. Those moments - those milestones - changed us.

Before entering parenthood, we saw how deeply families in our Central Texas community longed for gentle, expertly informed support, especially during the first year of life and beyond. We wanted to create a space where parents felt understood, empowered, and truly partnered with. A place where littles could explore, strengthen, and thrive with care that honors their nervous system, their pace, and their individuality.

What started as a simple desire to help families has grown into a mission: to guide little pioneers and their caregivers through the earliest adventures of development.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support littles and their families through joyful, relationship-centered therapy that honors both connection and curiosity.

We believe in:

  • Meeting every child exactly where they are
  • Supporting parents as the experts in their child
  • Using gentle, purposeful strategies rooted in neurodevelopment
  • Prioritizing co-regulation as a pathway to learning
  • Bringing compassionate care to rural Central Texas

At Peakside, we see therapy not as a service, but as a partnership - one that helps families feel grounded, confident, and hopeful.

We look beyond symptoms to understand the whole child - their nervous system, feeding, motor skills, sensory needs, breathing and airway, and emotional well-being. Each session follows your little one’s cues, adapting to their needs on both the easy days and the challenging ones.

Specialized Training

Sensory & Nervous System Support

Sensory & Nervous System Support

Sensory & Nervous System Support

  • Sensory processing foundations
  • Co-regulation strategies
  • Guidance for helping littles remain calm, organized, and ready to learn
  • Intentional, relationship & connection based approach to social-emotional development for Autistic toddlers

We prioritize co-regulation, emotional safety and sensory processing differences, helping littles build the foundation for calm bodies, engaged play, and smoother feeding and motor learning. A regulated nervous system is the starting point for every milestone.

Infant Feeding & Oral Function

Sensory & Nervous System Support

Sensory & Nervous System Support

  • Conservative interventions
  • Breast/chest/bottle feeding support
  • Tethered oral tissue (TOTs)–related challenges
  • Oral motor development
  • Pre- and post-frenectomy therapy

We support infants through feeding challenges by understanding how the mouth, tongue, jaw, posture, and whole body systems work together. Our approach looks beyond symptoms to uncover the “why,” helping babies feed with comfort, coordination, and confidence.

Infant Motor Development

Fascial & Manual Therapy Approaches

Fascial & Manual Therapy Approaches

We take a holistic, infant-led approach to rolling, sitting, crawling, and early transitions. By identifying asymmetries, compensations, or movement roadblocks, we help your little one move with ease and joy.

  • Assessment and treatment of asymmetries and compensations
  • Developmental movement patterns
  • Environmental assessment and modifications
  • Sensory processing and tone management
  • Support for torticollis, head shape concerns, and early motor delays

Fascial & Manual Therapy Approaches

Fascial & Manual Therapy Approaches

Fascial & Manual Therapy Approaches

We’re trained to gently assess and address the fascial network, asymmetries or compensations, and areas where the body may be working “harder than it should.” This soft, responsive approach helps improve comfort, regulation, and overall ease of movement.

Using a gentle, hands-on approach to feel the muscles and fascial system (the body’s interconnected web of support), we help release restricted patterns that affect feeding, breathing, posture, and movement. This allows babies to find more balance and gives them the freedom to move in their bodies.

Meet Our Occupational Therapist

Ashley Hottman, OTD, OTR/L

Ashley is an occupational therapist who believes that childhood should feel safe, joyful, and full of small victories. Her work is rooted in noticing the little things - your child’s interests, their rhythms, their spark - and using those moments to gently guide them forward. She supports each little one with a positive, playful, and compassionate approach, always honoring who they are and what helps them feel regulated and understood.

Her heart is in caring for families where they feel most grounded: at home, in their own sacred space. This is where children relax, where parents breathe easier, and where the most meaningful growth unfolds. Ashley’s goal is to bring whole-body, family-centered care into that space, walking beside you as you learn, wonder, and advocate for your little one.
